A Single Source of Truth.

Why every project I work on has one shared Google Doc.

My framework for collaborating with people comes down to two things: a single source of truth for each project, and recurring meetings.

One shared doc per project

Every project gets one shared Google Doc. I do it this way so it's easy for everybody to find all the information, all in one place.

Tabs for each concern

The doc has multiple tabs, one for each concern. For example:

  • Project breakdown
  • Who does what
  • Plan
  • Submissions
  • Quick links: all the external links to relevant info, like git repos.

Each tab then has sub-tabs for each of its headings.

Why I use Google Docs for this is in Google Docs, Calendar, and Meet.
