I'm joining Stripe as a Software Engineering Intern in Winter 2027.
The process
- Online assessment: a multi-part coding problem based on a real-world design scenario.
- Technical team screen: a similar format to the OA, but shorter and live with an interviewer.
- Onsite, AI coding round: a multi-part problem solved with the help of AI tools.
- Onsite, integration round: cloning an existing codebase and building features from GitHub issues.
- Manager chat: a behavioural conversation with a senior engineering manager about my experience.
- Offer
As always, I took the earliest dates I could (why).
How it went
It was one of the best interview processes I've been through. No brain teasers, no tricks. Every round felt like work I'd actually be doing, so I came out of it knowing more about the job, rather than just hoping I'd passed.
My recruiter also made the whole thing really seamless.
Why Stripe
Most of us never think about what happens after we hit pay. I didn't either, until two summers at HubSpot on the FinTech team showed me how much has to go right for a payment to feel instant: billing, reconciliation, the quiet systems that can't be wrong.
At Stripe, that work is the product rather than something supporting it.
